AIR Expands Controls Capabilities with Strategic Acquisition of Cardinal Control Systems

AIR Control Concepts (“AIR”) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Cardinal Control Systems, Inc., an HVAC control and building management system contractor based in Holbrook, New York. This strategic addition strengthens AIR’s capabilities in building automation, direct digital controls (DDC), and system integration across the greater New York metropolitan market.

Founded in 2003, Cardinal Control Systems has built a strong reputation for delivering customized building automation and controls solutions that improve energy efficiency and occupant comfort for building owners and operators across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The company offers a comprehensive suite of services including design and engineering, installation, commissioning, maintenance, service and remote support. Cardinal Control Systems’ factory-trained technicians are experienced across pneumatic, electric, and digital control platforms—including BACnet, LON, and N2—and have a proven track record serving K-12 schools, hospitals, museums, libraries, state and county facilities, office buildings, and large residential estates.

Cardinal Control Systems is an excellent fit for the AIR platform," said Hayden Bland, Chief Operating Officer of AIR Control Concepts. "Their deep expertise in multi-protocol integration and building automation, combined with long-standing relationships across the New York institutional and commercial markets, significantly enhances our ability to support customers with high-performing, technically driven solutions. We are excited to welcome Scott and the Cardinal team to the AIR network."

Cardinal Control Systems has earned the trust of engineers, contractors, facility owners, school districts and other public agencies through a consultative approach and a commitment to delivering solutions that are easy to operate, maintain, and service. The company’s involvement in LEED-certified and Energy Performance projects reflects a shared commitment to sustainable, high-efficiency building performance.

“Joining AIR is a tremendous opportunity for our team and the customers we serve,” said Scott McVetty, President of Cardinal Control Systems. “We have always been committed to delivering exceptional, customized solutions backed by deep technical expertise. Partnering with AIR gives us access to greater resources and a broader network while allowing us to continue providing the responsive, hands-on service our customers have come to rely on. We’re excited about the future, and we look forward to what we can accomplish as part of the Air team.”

The acquisition expands AIR’s footprint in the Northeast, adding controls integration expertise and an established customer base in one of the most active institutional and commercial building markets in the country.
